Download and install Gretl
Windows
You can download Gretl from this page: Gretl for Microsoft Windows
If you have no specific needs, simply download the latest release of self installer according to the processor you have. (Note: if you don't know what type of processor you have, go to Settings → System → About and under System type you can see whether your processor is 32-bit or 64-bit.)
After downloading the installation file, run it.
System requirements
As of version 1.9.4, gretl requires Windows XP or higher and a processor that supports the SSE2 instruction set. SSE2 support is found in all modern processors; it is absent in AMD CPUs prior to the Athlon 64, and in Intel CPUs prior to the Pentium 4.
MacOS
If you're running OS X 10.6, 10.7 or 10.8 ("Snow Leopard", "Lion" or "Mountain Lion") we suggest trying the 2021a release of gretl. If you're running OS X 10.5 or earlier please see our gretl for legacy Macs page.
