How to contribute code to gretl

This is intended to be a detailed description on how to contribute code to gretl. It is still in progress.

1. gretl is written in the C programming language, so the first you have to do is learning C. Start by installing an IDE (integrated development environment) such as e.g. Code::Blocks, which is avaliable for free on Linux, Mac OS X and Windows. Then, read a book about C, e.g. the freely available Teach Yourself C in 21 Days (PDF-file here).

2. Get the gretl source code from CVS on SourceForge
